The Imaging Analysis of Pulmonary Sarcodiosis

چکیده
Objective: To analysis radiographic features of thoracic sarcoidosis for further understanding of the disease. Methods: 42 cases of pulmonar sarcodiosis were proved by histopathology from April 2009 to July 2014, including 13male and 29 female, and their age were from 33 year-old to 75 year-old, with an average of 50 years. All the cases underwent CT scan. Among them, 25 cases received enhanced CT scan. The imaging findings were summarized by two chest imaging physician. Results: The main CT finding of pulmonar sarcodiosis was lymphadenopathy which were seen in 38 cases (90.5%), including mediastinal and bilateral hilar lymphadenopathy (n=27, 64.3%), mediastinal and the hilar lymphadenopathy (n=5, 11.9%), mediastinal lymphadenopathy (n=6, 14.3%) and the lesion of pulmonary parenchymal without mediastinal lymphadenopathy (n=4, 9.5%). The parenchymal abnormalities in sarcoidosis were seen in 34 cases (80.9%), of which 29 cases were noudles (69.0%) and 15 cases distributed around the bronchovascular bundles (35.7%), masses (n=4, 9.5%), consolidations (n=2, 4.8%), ground-grass (n=1, 2.4%), thickening of bronchovascular bundle (n=12, 28.6%), fibrosis (n=1, 2.4%) and pelural involvement (n=10, 23.8%). Conclusion: CT manifertations of pulmonar sarcodiosis are varied, but have some specific radiographic features. A correct diagnosis can be made combined with hilar and mediastinal adenopathy.

Evaluation of the confounding factors disturbing the quality of CT images of pulmonary angiography
Background: Since pulmonary angiography is the only non-invasive method for diagnosing pulmonary embolism, the use of radiation reduction methods without affecting the quality of images seems necessary. One of the simplest reasons for unnecessarily increasing of patient exposure is repetitive imaging due to poor image quality. Therefore, it is necessary to identify and ...
متن کاملComment on “Computed Tomography Imaging Findings in Chemical Warfare Victims with Pulmonary Complications”
Dr.Mirsadraei and colleagues performed an interesting study about the lung HRCT findings in chemical warfare patients who suffering from long-term pulmonary complications. They found that air trapping and mosaic attenuation were the most common lung HRCT findings. Also they divided patients in different clinical entities according to the lung HRCT findings (Bronchiolitis Oblitrans, pulmonary fi...

Introduction & Objective: The most common site of involvement in TB is the lungs. TB involves different parts of the lungs and has variable radiologic features. The aim of this study was to compare radiologic sequels between smear positive and smear negative pulmonary tuberculosis patients (PTPs). Materials & Methods: In an analytic cross-sectional study, 63 pulmonary tuberculosis patients w...

Introduction: Data on imaging findings in pulmonary complications of chemical agents is scarce. The current study aimed to evaluate radiological findings of late onset pulmonary complications in chemical warfare victims (CWV) and to guide pulmonologists in diagnosis of these subjects. Materials and Methods: Ninety- three male CWV were enrolled in this prospective study, 20-25 years (mean=23...
متن کامل18FDG PET/CT in pulmonary carcinosarcoma and brain metastasis
Carcinosarcoma is a rare type of cancer that is composed of a mixture of sarcomatous and carcinomatous elements. Pulmonary carcinosarcoma has a 25% five-year survival rate with a prognosis poorer than other non-small cell lung carcinomas. Herein, we report a case of pulmonary carcinosarcoma and its 18F-FDG PET/CT findings. A 61-year-old male patient presented with brain symptoms, including hea...
